How to Get a Library Card
Full Service Library Card
To get a free full service library card, submit an application at the Circulation Desk along with valid identification and proof of Jefferson County residency. Library cards may be used at any public library in Jefferson County. More information.
A $50.00 annual fee is charged to residents who live outside Jefferson County. We are no longer able to waive the out-of-county fee for patrons who work in Jefferson County due to a 100% reduction in funding from the County.
eCard (online card)
Get a free eCard for immediate, but limited, access to online resources from home. To upgrade to a full service library card, visit the library and present your eCard number, a photo ID and proof of address. For more information, see Frequently Asked Questions.
Get a free PC card for computer/Internet use within the library. Patrons must present valid state, federal or national identification that includes their name and photo. By completing an application for a PC card, patrons who do not meet the requirements for a full service library card may still have access to the Internet.
For more information, phone 205.332.6600, option 3 or email the Circulation Manager.
