Election and Voting Information

Voting in our country is a right and a privilege, but understanding all of the ins and outs of the voting process can sometimes be confusing and frustrating. This webpage has been constructed  to help make the voting process a little easier. We have consolidated many of the resources you will need to help you with voting in the city, state, and federal elections.


Voter Registration, Polling Places, Election Calendars

City of Homewood elections page  offers two main resource types. First, material by election season, expanding with information during city elections or listing results afterward. Independent Voting Sources Online

Ballotpedia* is the digital encyclopedia of American politics and elections. Their goal is to inform people about politics by providing accurate and objective information about politics at all levels of government. They are firmly committed to neutrality in their content. As a nonprofit, their mission is to educate the American people when:

  • They are considering a run for office.

  • They are making decisions about how they will vote in an election.

  • They need the latest political news and analysis from a reliable, nonpartisan source.

Vote411.org  was launched by the League of Women Voters Education Fund (LWVEF) in October of 2006, and is a ‘one-stop-shop’ for election related information. It provides nonpartisan information to the public with both general and state-specific information on the following aspects of the election process:

  • Absentee ballot information

  • Ballot measure information (where applicable)

  • Early voting options (where applicable)

  • Election dates
