Computer Lab @ the Library

Computer Lab

  • 25 multimedia computers, one of which is a handicap accessible computer station with an electrically adjustable desk.

  • Printing full-color is $.25 per page, and black and white is $.10 per page. The Computer Lab houses a color laser printer and all patron documents are printed here.

  • Printing from personal laptops is available, please click on the PrinterOn icon below for more information and instructions. 

  • Scanning is available on all Computer Lab stations for no charge however patrons must provide their own flash drive, or blank CD / DVD to save the file. 

  • Storage devices: flash drives ($10  for 16G size) or (blank CD / DVD) are sold in the Lab.

  • Headphones are no longer provided. You may bring your own headphones or ear buds, or you may purchase headphones for $2.50.

  • Time limit is two hours per day per person on the computers.

    • Catalog iPads are placed in the Adult, Children's and Circulation Depts.

    • Wi-Fi is available in all areas of the library, including auditoriums and meeting rooms. See the Internet & Wi-Fi Policy.

    • To print wirelessly from anywhere click here.

    • Apple iPads are available for patron checkout. You must have a valid JCLC library card to check these out. HPL iPads may only be picked up and returned to Homewood Public Library. For more information and to make a hold request go to: https://www.homewoodpubliclibrary.org/ipads

    • Paint.net - Edits pictures for use in applications and printing.

    • ImgBurn CD/DVD Burning Software 

    • Scanner Software - For scanning your documents and pictures.

    • Scanner Tutorial – To show you how to use the scanner.

    • Ancestry – Genealogical research database

    • Chilton Auto Repair – Online Automotive Repair Manual

    • Ebsco Reference – Reference database that includes online Encyclopedias, books, journals and more!

    • Homewood Code of Ordinances – Database containing the Homewood Codes of Governance.

    • Social Security Administration

    • JCLC Databases – A set of over 70 databases and reference sites for the publics use. Includes items such as dictionaries, encyclopedias, social sciences, history, including local and genealogy, health, science, business, languages literature and much more. Check it out!
