This history series with Niki Sepsas tells the remarkable story of American Independence celebrating our 250th anniversary. Provided through a grant from America 250 Alabama.
Realizing that America’s rebellious colonies were in no position to challenge Britain’s Royal Navy and its rule of the seas, the Continental Congress in 1776 began commissioning private vessels to harass British shipping. This program details how daring seafarers from the colonies risked their lives to capture British vessels and how their success impacted the Revolution.
This presentation is supported by a grant award from America 250 Alabama.
